We had so much fun at our June 29th life drawing session that we have decided this should be happening more frequently than once a month. So now….it’s going to be twice a month! Come with your drawing materials, your paper and pencils. (No charcoal, please!) Each session will feature different themes, models and music to draw by.

Description
This will be our 45th year of performances for “The Trial of Louis Riel”. We are the second longest running play in Canada next to “Anne of Green Gables”. John Coulter wrote the play as part of a Centennial project in 1967. It’s based on the actual transcripts of the famous “Trial of Louis Riel”, in Regina, SK of 1885. The issues surrounding the trial, such as: justice, land, language, race, and religion are all still very much alive today.

Marty Stuart – He is a five time Grammy-winner, platinum recording artist, Grand Ole Opry star, songwriter, and leader of the band The Fabulous Superlatives. Some of Marty’s biggest hits include: Burn Me Down, Hillbilly Rock, Tempted & High On A Mountain Top. Connie Smith – Connie Smith’s hit recording of Once a Day was included in her first self-titled LP which also reached No. 1. This album served as the first of over fifty albums Smith has recorded to date. Connie Smith’s first wave of hits included titles such as Then and Only Then, Nobody But a Fool and Cincinnati, Ohio. Connie’s first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry stage dates back to 1964, even before her first hit. She was instantly welcomed by the Opry family for 22 guest appearances.

Saskatoon Berry Pie Festival

The Regina Farmers’ Market is having its’ Eighth Annual Pie Festival to benefit the Regina Home Economics for Living Project. Last year we raised $2188.19 for this worthy organization that teaches families and children how to cook and budget for food. All pies are baked by licensed Market Bakers using berries picked by our Market Members. Your slice of pie and coffee are served on fully compostable and recycled paper products. We will also have diabetic and gluten free pies available. The Saskatoon Pie Fest will be held on July 27th & 30th on the Civic Plaza of City Hall from 9:30am to 1:30pm. Tables and chairs will be provided around the fountain. A slice of pie and coffee or juice will be $4 a slice. We extend much gratitude to The Green Spot, The Cookie Lady and Fresh & Sweet for their donation of equipment, coffee, and licensed facilities to the Pie Festival. Hope to see you there enjoying the tastes of summertime!
