Our downtown is evolving
Regina is committed to designing an engaging and vibrant city. Already, $500,000 has been pledged to the Downtown Neighbourhood Plan. And all three levels of government have come together to budget $7.1 million to transform Victoria Park into Victoria Square, a new central meeting place and marketplace open to pedestrians and foot traffic soon to become a cultural hotspot in the heart of the city.

Innovation and growth
Environmentally friendly Innovation Place Regina, our $60 million research and innovation centre, has added 71,000 square feet of space and now has the capacity to house 270 employees.

Regina is the hub
With the development of a $93 million Global Transportation Hub that will offer services by air, road and rail, Regina is increasing its profile in the transportation industry. The development is expected to employ as many as 1,500 people by 2017. The first major tenant, Loblaw Companies Ltd., has already begun construction of a one-million-square-foot $350 million distribution centre.

Natural resource success
Consumers’ Cooperative Refineries Ltd., an oil and natural gas exploration and production company, announced plans for $1.9 billion expansion of its Regina refinery expected to be complete in 2011.
