Bear witness to great moments
and historic figures

Regina is steeped in history. The Regina Plains Museum houses
17,000 artifacts (including a steam locomotive) which collectively tell the tale of the Queen City’s rise. Over time, many legendary and unsung heroes have risen to define, defend and inspire our people – like the regal Lieutenant-Governors who walked the halls of the now National Historic Site of Government House; the brave men and women honoured in the Saskatchewan Military Museum and Regina’s RCMP Heritage Centre; and the athletes who captured the hearts and minds of their generation, now immortalized in the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.  Learn more.

Worldly Wonders

In Regina, we have a bridge. Beneath it runs the 37-metre wide, manmade Wascana Creek. The bridge itself spans ten times that length – a stretch in proportions recognized in Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Immortalized as the Albert Memorial Bridge, the famed span began as an employment relief project during the Great Depression. Its sheer length, combined with the Wascana Lake improvement project, helped create 2,100 much needed jobs in the region during the Depression. Nearby, another historic monument – the Saskatchewan Legislature – lays claim as Canada’s largest legislative building. There’s always something new to discover in Regina.
